Finished poster for Major assignemt showing all aspects involved and the erection of tilt up construction intersecting with steel universal column.

Research for Assignment


The diagram shows the importance of planning involved in concrete tilt up construction. The placement of the panels once lifted into position and the temporary bracing before connection to steel frame.

This diagram was taken from the Concrete Tilt up manual, Concrete Association of Australia and shows the lifting inserts required for a centre and edge lift of concrete panels.
These teqniques can be adopted for both tilt up and pre-cast construction.

This picture shows the vertical formwork and whaling systems utilised when concrete poured on site. This is for a central stairwell shaft that continues from floor to floor.

Major Assignment research

The drawing shows position and type of bolts used for the nominated connection of steel mambers. This drawing was gained from a structural engineer.
